While I am home bound with less activity than before due to the COVID-19 pandemic, I wanted to bring some cheer to myself and you all through my latest craft work!
The quote ‘Live Life in Full Bloom’ always inspires me and I found the same stencil from the store! That began the starting point for this project.
Living life in full bloom means living with hope and purpose, with imagination and vision in a way that honors the Earth, the spirit, and one another (from the book ‘Living Life in Full Bloom’ by Elizabeth Murray).
Let’s get started with this easy peasy project!
I altered this mini leather lamp (from my craft stash) using the Pansy Wreath decoupage napkin, 4×4 inch stencils, fabric Deco Magic glue, chalk paints, metallic paints and handmade flowers from ItsyBitsy!
I adhered the napkin using the fabric Deco Magic glue. It is indeed a Deco Magic! It is thick and creamy in texture and made my tissue stick easily without any wrinkles on the leather.
Then I used the stencil Live life in full bloom on the opposite sides using the home decor Charcoal chalk paint and a stencil brush for a clean stenciling.
On the two other sides, I created a background using the stencil Chirpy Haven and the same chalk paint.
For this side, I also dabbed metallic paint Caribbean Teal with a sponge to give a little sheen. This paint is a bit fluid with good coverage and a shimmery effect.
I applied one more coat of fabric Deco magic all over the lamp as a sealant.
For the final finishing touches, I used the pretty handmade flowers of different colours and sizes from the store. I pasted the flowers using the Little Birdie glue gun. I also wrapped cords to cover the legs of the lamp.
