A Small Mixed Media Altered box

Hello everyone, Pooja here

Today I am going to share a mixed media altered box with you all. I am sure many of you have this kind of empty boxes, like jewellery boxes, watch boxes etc. This project is simple and easy to make altered project. I am sure you will find it inspiring and worth giving a try!

Here is a picture of my altered box….Have a look!!

Tutorial:
1. I have used an empty small, black box which is made of hard cardboard. I did some stencil work with Little Birdie Grainy Texture Paste and sprinkled some Texture Stand over it.

2. After that, I start adding small things from my stash like chipboard-shapes, broken spoon pieces, buttons, paper quilling flowers, beads, shells and created layers of material as I liked.

Here is how it looked after completion.

3. I applied black gesso all over the composition.

4. Now it was time for me to add colors. I used Tinted Metallic paints and distressed with white gesso in the end.

I was not satisfied with the center embellishment on my composition. So, I replaced it with a glass stone.

Here are some images of my finished project.

Hope you liked it and will try something similar! Till we meet next..

Love

Pooja
