Blessed- Mixed Media Canvas

Hello everyone!! Lisa here with today’s Itsy Bitsy Post. This is a bit of a special one as we are coming to the end of our 6 month term with Itsy Bitsy Design Team. I have had the best time ever working with some of the most fabulous products in the market and working alongside the other lovely ladies on the team.

So, for this project, I worked on a huge base which was a 20 inch x 12 inch canvas.  I worked on the back of the canvas to make use of the frame.

Here is what I did…

And here is how I did it…

First, I painted the back of the canvas and the wooden frame with Little Birdie white Mixed Media 2 in 1 Paste.

I tore some pieces from a decoupage paper and glued it to the canvas using craft glue. Then glued natural burlap over the frame.

I added some lengths of tape and lace ribbons to create more texture then, painted another coat of mixed media paste.

I added some more texture using different stencils and mixed media paste.

I painted over the inside of the canvas with a watery layer of chalk paint. I then added some more Mixed Media Paste on the frame.

I glued Texture Sand and mixed media stones randomly on the canvas and painted over them with the Mixed Media Paste.

I then added more chalk paint and left everything to dry.

While the many layers of media on the canvas was drying, I painted a selection of chipboard pieces with the chalk paint.

And gathered a selection of handmade flowers.

I decided to add some gold embossing powder on the chipboard pieces.

And added some more on the frame of the canvas.

Here is the final piece and a few more close ups.

Thank you so much for popping by the blog today.

Toodles for now, Lisa x

Here is everything I used on this project which are all available on the website and at Itsy Bitsy stores.
