Crafter in the Spotlight Dr. Neha Sanwalka Rungta

Hello arty crafty friends! Just like every Thursday, I am back with the story of another ardent crafter today in “Crafter in the Spotlight”. Let’s hear about the craft journey of Dr. Neha Sanwalka Rungta from Mumbai.

Dr. Neha, a consultant scientist, data analyst and nutritionist by profession, is a passionate crafter. For her, crafting is de-stressing and the best way to relax. She likes various arts and craft forms that include mixed media, acrylic pour paintings, Zentangle and more.

Neha’s most prized possession from Itsy Bitsy is Little Birdie’s Dream Cut machine. She encourages amateurs to go slow, learn and experiment along the way when it comes to crafting. Neha loves making handmade flowers from papers.

How did Neha get into crafting, what inspires her, what are her tips for fellow crafters, her favourite quote, how would she contribute to the crafting world if she had magical powers? Read along to find answers to all these questions and discover more about her interesting journey and catch glimpses of a step by step project by her. Don’t forget to leave your loving comments for her.

Here is a Step by Step project by  Neha

Step 1: I painted the boxes with Little Birdie Home Decor Chalk Paints Pink Ballet and the lids using Fortune Cookie.

Step 2: Thereafter, I stamp butterflies from Little Birdie stamp set on a tissue paper using pigment ink.

Step 3: Then, colored the butterflies with pigment ink of my choice.

Step 4: Tore butterflies from the tissue by applying water around them. Kept the edges rough.

Step 5: Adhered the butterflies using Little Birdie Matte Gel medium on the boxes.

Step 6: Stuck the boxes to each other to complete the stand.

Step 7: Then, I cut thin strips from Itsy Bitsy’s burgundy burlap sheets.

Step 8: Glued the burlap strips on the lids with Little Birdie craft glue.

Step 9: Stacked and adhered the lids together and embellished with Little Birdie handmade flowers and beads. And it was done!!

Here are a couple of  Neha’s  other awesome creations:
