Rashmi Closepet M.D Itsy Bitsy: Tell us a bit about yourself & your background?

Priyanka Kantak: Hi Everyone! I am Priyanka Kantak. I live in Mumbai with my family. By profession, I am a Voice Over artist, lending my voice for E-learning, T.V. commercials, Radio ads and Corporate AV’s.  I have completed my Bachelor’s in Textile & Fashion Technology. Besides crafting, I love reading and eating delicious food.

RC: How did you get into crafting?

PK: I first started with making jewelry and I still love making them. I bought my first jewelry findings from Itsy Bitsy itself. My love for trying out new forms of crafts, led me to venture into cardmaking. Itsy Bitsy has played a very important role in satisfying my creative practices.

RC: What is your favourite type of craft?

PK: Currently Cardmaking is something I look forward to doing every day. But I also love Jewelry making and Crochet.

RC: What are your favourite products at Itsy Bitsy?

PK: I love all the products at Itsy Bitsy, whether it is handmade flowers, Sparkling Dotties, Chalk Paints, Silk Threads, Pattern Papers, Thin Cut Dies or Clear stamps! I cannot side with one!

RC: If you had magical powers, how would you contribute to the Crafting world?

PK: The mess I create after crafting is a big turn off. So, if I had magical powers, I would help everyone to clean up their after-crafting mess with a swish.

RC: Your prized possession in your craft stash from Itsy Bitsy?

PK: Little Birdie Clear Stamps, Thin Cut Dies and Sparkling Dotties. I loved the Sparkling Dotties so much; I bought them in every color available.

RC: How would you describe your style of crafting?

PK: I have a very simplistic way of doing things. Creating things by going with the flow… is my style!

RC: How do you organise your time for crafting?

PK: I craft when I feel like it. Sometimes I craft non-stop for long hours and sometimes not even for days.

RC: Tips for people who want to craft

PK: Do not put yourself down just because you could not create something like someone else. Avoid comparing. The other person may have spent years of practice in achieving that project. Just focus on learning from everyone.

RC: Your all -time favourite quote?

PK: If you think You Can or you think You Can’t, either way you are right! ~ Henry Ford

Here is a step-by-step project by  Priyanka Kantak

Take a sneak peek at Priyanka’s step-by-step project of a simple yet elegant and classy See-through Card:

Supplies used from the store:

  1. Bright White Cardstock
  2. Thin Cut Doily Die
  3. Bone Folder
  4. Sparkling Dotties – Cherry
  5. Glitter Blooms – Lemon Chiffon Handmade Flowers
  6. 12×12 Pattern Paper Pack A True Love Story Paper pack
  7. Craft Glue.

Step 1:

I die-cut a sheet of Bright white cardstock using Little Birdie Thin Cut Doily Die, twice.

Step 2:

Then I scored 1 doily at the top using a bone folder.

Step 3:

I also die-cut 4 circles of 2 inches diameter from the Bright white cardstock and a scalloped circle from the True Love Story Paper Pack.

Step 4:

Then I glued the circles on the 2 pieces of doilies, each on either side of the doilies.

Step 5:

I also stuck the red scalloped circle on 1 piece of the doily, on top of the white circle.

Step 6:

After that I fussy cut the sentiment from the True Love Story paper pack and stuck it on the red scalloped circle.

Step 7:

I then took the scored doily and stuck 2 strips of red (from the paper pack) on the front and assembled the Lemon Yellow flowers on it.

Step 8:

After this, I fussy cut the ‘LOVE’ sentiment from the paper pack and stuck it on the flowers along with the Cherry Sparkling Dotties.

Step 9:

Finally, I stuck the 2 doilies at the scored part and Voila! Our See-Through card is completed! Hope you liked my tutorial. I had fun making it!
