Customized Purse with Decoupage and Glitter Fabric Paints

  1. Hello arty-crafty friends!
  2. As you all know this month’s blog challenge is all about the newly launched Little Birdie glitter fabric paints. We all at the design team are trying to inspire you with our creativity and ideas. So, here I am with my project I made using glitter fabric paints.

I have customized a decoupage purse with glitter fabric paints and stencils. Believe me it’s looking so pretty and I am ready to flaunt it.

I have used little Birdie decoupage glue, tissue from the store, and done decoupage on a faux leather purse. I purposely selected a light design so that I could add a glitter background. I have selected a tissue in vintage style with butterflies and script and a plain background.
After sticking the tissue, I tried to clear all wrinkles and gave it a blow drying. Then I gave it one coats of decoupage glue, drying in between each coat. Once all dried, I used light pink colour fabric glitter paint on the clear area as that is very light and gave a nice glitter effect to the purse.
Then using a stencil and yellow and blue glitter fabric paints I did stenciling in few places . I took care not to cover any butterfly and the script area as I wanted that clear. Once I was happy with the stencil work  on both the sides, I let it dry naturally. Next day,  using a sand paper, I did very light sanding. It gives a smooth finish and any unevenness from any rough glitter goes away. Finally using the script stamp and black archival ink,I did the stamping here and there. To merge the background, I used the Honeycomb stamp also. At the end, I applied one more very thin coat of decoupage glue.
Hope you liked my project and will try something similar.
    Keep crafting!
