Hi everyone, DT Henriette here with my second blog post for Itsy Bitsy! I just wanted to say that I’m very excited to be part of the Itsy Bitsy Design team and I’m looking forward to sharing my crafty projects with you all and meeting new friends.
Today I’m sharing a decorated wooden desk organizer and a few decorated tags. It’s so much fun to pimp up a dull desk organizer and you can finally use up all those cute embellishments and pretty papers you have in your stock.
I’ve started by sanding the table organizer and painting it. I did this in a cardboard box outside in the garden with white spray paint but you can also paint it with any other (acrylic/wood/ chalk) paint.
Once the paint is dry, you can sand it again and paint it for a second layer or just leave it as it is. For the decoupage I used the beautiful paper from the natural stack paper pack.
I measured up all the sides and boxes and used different patterned paper. I used spray glue to glue the paper to the wood.
I left the drawer uncovered. After all the compartments are decoupaged you can seal the surface with mod podge and start decorating.
I used fabric flowers, ribbon, burlap and burlap flowers for decoration, but you can use so many other embellishments.
Here is the finished table organizer.
Using the same paper pack, burlap and flowers I’ve made a few gift tags in the same style as the desk organizer. The sentiments on the tags are made on my computer and printed out on matching paper.
The tags fit the desk organizer perfectly.
I hope I have inspired you in decorating wooden objects. The Itsy Bitsy
Store has many more wooden decorables for you to play with.
Thank you so much for stopping by, I really appreciate your comments!
