I am sharing this wonderful idea of creating a wall art for your home or for gifting your loved ones.
This can be the best piece of decoration on the wall of your sweet home. This is meticulously crafted with different hues, textures, handmade flowers and embellishments, all giving it a mystique vintage look.
The idea of making handmade wall art gives immense joy. To make this Decoupage Delight, I have used various techniques and products from Little Birdie that are available at Itsy Bitsy. Just to help you create the same, below is a tutorial with steps that I followed to give the wall art a vintage look.
Firstly, I selected a square big MDF board and painted it with white chalk paint. Here I have given two coats of white chalk paint.
For the Vintage look, I have selected a vintage decoupage napkin, adhered the napkin on the center of the board using Deco Magic glue.
Now, colored the white surface with pink (Bubble Gum) chalk paint, leaving the napkin part to be showcased.
After the paint dried completely, I rubbed candle wax on the places I wanted to distress.
On top of this, I have painted teal chalk paint. I have given a two coats of paint. Allowed it to dry completely.
Using a sand paper, just rubbed down the paint where the wax was applied earlier so that the paint rips off, giving it a beautiful distressed look.
Now, we can see the distressed look and the two shades of colors which merge so well giving it a vintage look.
Through a stencil, I have applied Grainy Texture Paste using a palette knife at random places on the board. While lifting up the stencil, be a little careful as the paste is soft. This creates a beautiful texture.
As I love primed chipboard shapes, I selected the Moroccan mesh design chipboard. Cut it into two equal halves as to fit according my need at the bottom of the board. On top of the chipboard I have applied few drops of Teal Cabana Pearl Drops.
I have adhered them at the bottom of the board using heavy gel medium.
On top, I adhered few handmade flowers, mini pellets, macro pellets and chipboard on the corners by using heavy gel medium.
Finally to finish with, I have given two coats of varnish.
