Hello arty-crafty friends!
Today it’s me, DT member Daksha on the blog with an inspirational project using the newly released decoupage papers. First I want to say, using these papers feels just like spreading butter. You won’t get any wrinkles and they are very smooth.
So today I am sharing a beautiful decoupage gift box which you can use as a jewellery box, a chocolate gift box or for gifting other knick knacks.
You can select the print of your choice. I have selected a peacock print. I must say it’s a very pretty design and the quality of paper is perfect for decoupage work. So here is the picture of my completed project.
Step-1: First, I selected this white box which was already gessoed. Next, I selected the printed area which was perfect for this box. Using Deco Magic decoupage glue, I adhered the paper on the box.
Step-3: I have used coordinating chalk paints inside and out. To get the desired colour, I have used two chalk paint shades .
Step-4: At the bottom and on the lid to give a contrasting effect, I have used darker shades by mixing two chalk paints in blue and green shades. To add texture, I used the texture tool.(mixed colour and retarder). On the lid, did some light stenciling work on the left side with the same mix of colours.
