DIY Treasure Box Tutorial

Hello Itsy Bitsy fans,

Priya Mishra here with you today and I hope all of you are safe at home and following all the guidelines. This is a real trying time and we have to overcome this together. Today, I have a simple altered box project to share, it comes with a small step by step tutorial. We all have so many boxes at home which can be transformed into a beautiful treasure box using very basic products from our favourite craft store.

Here is my box which I made out of an ordinary cardboard box.

Let’s begin the tutorial:

Step 1: I covered the box with Black Gesso, you can also choose White gesso.

Step 2: Created some texture using Grainy Texture Paste and Net Stencil  on the sides and Floral Stencil  on the top

Step 3: Applied some Crackle Paste  on the corners of the top of the box and on the sides too.

Step 4: Covered everything with White gesso.

Step 5: Layered some resin embellishments, Wings Silicone Mould, Craft Pellets  and some Metal charms.

Step 6: Covered everything with White Gesso.

Step 7: Used Color Splash and Chalk Paints in the shade of Purple and Pink all over the box including the sides.

Step 8: Once the colors were dry, I dry brushed with a flat brush and white Gesso

Now that the box is ready. I layered some papers and glued them on the inside of the box and attached a button from a jeans as a handle to pull the drawer.

Hope you like it. Here are some some more pictures of the project.
