Ethnic Tea Light And Key Holder

Hello  arty-crafty friends,

Sabiha Khan here today with an ethnic decorative tea light  which also doubles up as a key holder. For making it I used the bright and beautiful Lotus Mandala Filament Decopage paper from Itsy Bitsy.

Have a look at my project….

Now,  lets begin the  step by step  tutorial for the same.

Lets get started……

First I took a MDF base along with the Lotus Mandala filament decoupage paper. Used a pencil to draw the outline and cut the paper into a smaller size as it becomes easy to handle.

Next, I used Little Birdie white gesso to prime the surface.

Thereafter, I coloured the edges and rest of the parts of the holder with Little Birdie Sangria – chalk paint . Used Deco Magic Decoupage glue to adhere the decoupage paper. Sealed the artwork with decoupage glue again by applying a top coat.

To enhance the look, I applied some Little Birdie – Antique Gold metallic wax with my fingers on the edges and the panel.

To beautify my project further, I used Little Birdie ‘Shape It’ epoxy clay with a mold from my stash to make an embellishment. Coloured it with chalk paints and applied some metallic wax.

Adhered the sculpted embellishment on the key holder. Fixed some hooks and applied 2 coats of Deco Varnish – Matte. It’s ready to be used.

Hope you all loved the project and get Inspired to take part in our ongoing challenge #30
