Flowers, Fresh air and Sunshine …It’s Spring!!

Hello everyone, Gayathri here

Today I am sharing a project made as an inspiration for this month’s blog challenge theme – Spring. For me Spring is all colors, bright sunshine and fresh air.  So here is my card using acrylic stamps from Itsy Bitsy.

Here is a step by step tutorial on how I made the card.

I took a top folding white card base measuring – 4″ x 5.5 ”

On another piece I die cut a rectangular piece using the cross-stitch rectangle die.

I added washi tape on one corner to avoid stamping the cross stitch pattern and also because I wanted to leave a border around.

I selected the sun stamp from the set – ‘Get Away’

The cycle stamp from the set – ‘Dream Catcher’

I stamped the images to create a scene and heat embossed with clear embossing powder.

I painted the composition with distress inks.

Thereafter, I selected few papers from Little Birdie’s ‘Pretty Pastels’ paper pack and cut banners out of them.

I layered the small panel with black cardstock. I added the strips of pattern papers and arranged few flowers and die cut leaves around to complete the card. I brushed a little bit of Sparkle Paste on the flowers to add sparkle and my card was ready.

I will like to share with you, my experiments with Sparkle Paste.

I started using the pastes with a stencil. The Sparkle Pastes just glided smoothly and the sparkle looked gorgeous.

I tried applying a thin layer with a brush, so as to give a shimmer to any image.

Here is an image with both trials. You can see the gorgeous shimmer on both.

With a brush, I applied on a fussy cut butterfly I had. You can see the sparkle on the wings.

I did the same with flowers. With a brush I added Sparkle Paste on the edges and the center.

I love the versatility of Little Birdie Sparkle Paste and the gorgeous shimmer they give. The shimmer cannot be caught fully in the camera. You have to physically see it to believe it! The more I see the stenciled stars, more I am in love with Sparkle Pastes. Gorgeous!!

Till I meet you next with another project –  Happy crafting!
