Hello everyone, Mukta here!
I have a mixed media canvas for you all today which is inspired by my childhood memories. As a child, the month of May was the time when the schools shut down for summer holidays and all books went back in side the cupboards!! All I did was eat mangoes and play in my garden which was filled with fluttering butterflies and fragrant flowers. Thinking about gardens makes me nostalgic….. and in my canvas I tried to share some of my feelings with you!
The alphabet background shows how the books have now taken a backseat and its time to play in the garden with butterflies. The colorful flowers are the focal elements on my canvas. I have added a lot of gold elements and empty frames to my canvas, as gold for me depicts old or vintage…..and thus represents “Capturing old memories”. The color inspiration of yellow and green comes from the King of Fruits – Mangoes. So this canvas represents my childhood memories of summer vacation. Here are a few closeups of my canvas.
I have spoken enough….its time for the tutorial. I have a video tutorial for you that will show you the process, from the start till the end. I encourage you all to watch it and get inspired to make your own mixed media creations!
Below is the list of supplies I used to make this project.
Thank you so much for stopping by. Have a wonderful week ahead.
Hugs

Just wanted to check one thing…what effect does the gel medium give here ?
Hey Hina.
So glad you liked my tutorial. Gel medium is a very good adhesive apart from adding consistency to your paints. I have used gel medium as a adhesive for adhering heavy embellishments to my canvas. Also because it dries clear, I have used it to add sparkle dots, seed beads and pebbles to my canvas.
Very nice
Totally enjoyed the video, the layout is absolutely fantastic! ❤️
