Mom’s Cafe – A Kitchen Plaque

Hi there everyone,

Anamika here! I am back today with a kitchen decor tutorial. It’s a kitchen plaque that can be hung on your kitchen door, can be be made and gifted to your friends and can also be a perfect Mother’s Day gift.

So let’s start.

I have taken an oval MDF board and painted it with black Gesso.

Once dry, I applied one step Crackle Medium at the peripheral region.

Once the medium was dry, I coated the base again with white gesso. Here, the moment I applied gesso on the medium, it cracked. So I got a cracked look at the peripheral area.

Next, I took a decoupage tissue from the store and used Deco Magic glue to decoupage it on the base.
Once dry, I merged the tissue with the surroundings using acrylic paint and chalk paints… giving it a wall like look.

Next, I took out a print out of ‘mom’s kitchen’ and used Deco Magic glue to paste it. I have taken a laser print out.

I then painted the words with black paint. Once done, I covered the surface with another coat of gesso to seal my project. I added more elements to my project with the help of Pearl Drops at the border. I also used it to give the written letters a 3D look.

Lastly, I coated the entire project with Decor Varnish.

Hope you all have enjoyed the tutorial and will definitely try to make one.
Till next time
Happy crafting!

Anamika
