Greens and Purples make a Grand Duo!

It's the fag end of the school year and I usually spend this time making little gifts for my son's teachers. Last year I made a batch of cupcakes with some cupcake toppers which you can view here. This year I decided to make something a little more elaborate. He has 2 fantastic teachers and here's the gift set for one of them. I decided to  make a card and coordinating notepad and wanted to use some different colours and techniques. I am not much of a stamper but the new stamp sets at ItsyBitsy Read more...

Albums for Early School Memories

It's that time of year when schools are wrapping up for the holidays. Some of our kids are going to middle school and others to senior school. My son has 4 friends in his carpool and I have become quite fond of these little ones. All 4 of them will now be entering middle school - going to class 1. My son still has a year to go but for these kids, it's the end of their play school years. I wanted to make something for them sort of as a goodbye present and I thought a school album might be just the Read more...

Wedding Favour Boxes using the Sizzix Bigz Shaker Box Die

I love white on white combinations and I am always looking for a reason to create something in this theme. This week I got a hold of the Sizzix Bigz Shaker Box Die which is perfect for party favours. Since I haven't done anything bridal in a while, I decided to use this die to create some Wedding Favour Boxes. The die itself is pretty self-sufficient. It cuts and scores the card appropriately so that once it's cut you just need fold and glue to assemble. Then all that's left is the embellishment Read more...

Gifts for the Wedding Cake Box

Last week I posted a blog post on a Wedding Cake Gift Box which was the inspiration for our current challenge - Say it With Roses. The idea was that each tier of box would be a space to include a gift of some sort. As promised, here are the handmade crafty gifts I have made for the inside of the box. For all three I have stuck with the theme of roses, continued the same colour scheme of black, white and red and made it as romantic as possible. The first gift, which is for the base tier of the cake, Read more...
