Precious Moments – Mixed Media | Shabby chic | Scrapbook Layout

Hello everyone Mukta here!

I am very excited as just conducted my very first workshop where I taught this mixed media scrapbook layout….Cant wait to share this with you all!! As many of you already know Itsy Bitsy is India’s no. 1 Hobby, Arts & Craft Store & also the largest manufacturer & Retailer of the finest range of Hobby & Craft supplies in India! Itsy Bitsy opened its 2nd store in Mumbai on 25th Feb, 2018 and free craft workshops were conducted to celebrate this occasion. I was so thrilled when I was asked to conduct a workshop for scrapbook layout…….It was like a dream come true. Apart for scrapbooking, free workshops were also conducted for mixed media, card making and decoupage.

I clicked a few pics of the process and I would like to share them with you all, along with the process to get there! Here are more pictures of this layout for everyone who could not attend my workshop.

I started with a natural burlap sheet and I adhered this to a brown cardstock (12″ by 12″). I took my picture and layered it using pattern papers from Little Birdie Watercolor Floral Ballet paper pack. To add more dimension and texture, I used pieces of chipboard between layers and added some corrugated cardboard pieces and cheesecloth behind the picture. I have distressed all the edges using a distressing tool to a give it some more interest.Once, I was sure about my placement of the picture, I added more texture using 2 in 1 Modelling paste and Inclined Dots stencil using a palette knife. I dried it thoroughly and then fixed the picture with all its layers on the layout.

Now, started working with my favourite part, where I took out beautiful Little Birdie flowers and arranged them on my layout. I have used handmade flowers -Wild Daisies, Naomi and Juniper Coral and gold heat embossed Luxurious leaves – chipboard shapes. I have layered all my flowers over some natural jute fiber and cheesecloth.

Once, I was happy with my layout, I started to add some color to it using Hot Pink and Paprika Color Splash sprays. I used a water brush to add this to my layout in many places to bring out some textures and dimensions.

Dazzle cocktail – Manhattan and gold micro beads added some sparkle to my layout and I finished it all with some butterflies from Corrugated Printed Beaded butterflies pack and splatters using white acrylic paint an Color Splash inks. The sentiment added is from my stash which I white heat embossed using Versamark. I have mostly used Craft glue and silicon glue from the store as my adhesive in this layout and gel medium to add microbeads and dazzle cocktail.

I hope you all liked my layout and here is the list of supplies I used to make this project.
