Tray Decor with Image Transfer Technique

Hi there everyone,

Anamika here. I am back today with a very simple yet lovely looking project….One which is a perfect gift for your loved ones. So let’s get started-
I have taken a 8 by 8 MDF tray and painted it with black chalk paint.
Once dry, I rubbed the inner sides as well as the outer part with wax.
I then coated the entire base with white chalk paint.
To give my project a distressed look, I used a sandpaper to scrape off the white colour on top at some places. Since I rubbed wax, the chalk paint on top easily gets scraped off giving the project a perfect distressed look.

At the central part of the base of my project I applied instant image transfer gel and pasted a printout of my choice.
After around 20 minutes I started removing the paper with wet fingers.
Once the image was transferred, I sealed it with Deco Magic glue.
Lastly, I covered the entire project with 2 coats of Decor Varnish.
Hope you enjoyed the tutorial and are surely going to try it out…..all the best and happy crafting
