Hello everyone! Hema Bhat here hoping you all are safe.
I am sure that you are getting inspired by the projects shared by our Design Team.
Today I am here with yet another inspirational project with the current blog challenge theme Itsy Bitsy Blog Challenge#29 – “Spread the sparkle with Little Birdie Glitter Fabric Paints”
The newly launched Little Birdie Glitter Fabric paints are available in 12 beautiful shades. The paint glides smoothly on fabric and can be easily applied with a synthetic brush. The best part about the Little Birdie Glitter Fabric paint is that it’s super shimmery, easy to use, dries instantly and has strong adhesion. Hence which ever project you use it on, becomes eye-catching.
- Little Birdie glitter fabric paints are perfect for DIY fashion and home décor projects.
- The shimmery, permanent colours feature strong adhesion and durability.
- Can be applied free hand, with brush, or with stencils.
- Allow the fabric to dry for 1 hour after application.
- The painted fabric is safe to be hand washed when it is completely dry.
- Ideal for using on T-shirts, tote bags, and other fabric crafts.
For this project I have used an old navy blue jewelry box from my stash. As it was quite big I thought why not convert it as a storage/carrying case for the tablet.
This is how the box looked when I started.
I cleaned the box with a wet wipe and removed the uneven layer of velvet cloth inside the box.
After that I gave it two coats of Little Birdie Chalk Paint Wisteria Mist and allowed it to dry.
Next step was to give a coat of the Little Birdie Glitter Fabric Paints. I chose the colors Rosy Shimmer, Wisteria Shine and Sparkle Pool. Using a synthetic hair flat brush I painted these over the chalk paint. I was amazed by the transformation. The lid looked completely different and brand new.
I also replaced the felt and elastic inside the box as the previous one was uneven and worn out. To stick the felt and elastic I used Silicon Glue.
The inner side of the lid had a plain white cloth with the brand name printed on it. I covered it with Chalk paints- Snow, French Rose and Muted Teal. Next using Little Birdie Fabric Deco Magic Glue I adhered a decoupage napkin. Then I chose Chalk paint Wisteria Mist and dabbed it on the stencil ‘Chevron’ using a stencil brush. I took a clear stamp mounted it on an acrylic block and dabbed some archival ink and stamped the images at few places. Finally I gave a coat of Little Birdie varnish to seal it.
Now the box got a complete makeover and is ready to begin a new life.
Don’t wait any more. Grab the opportunity to participate in the blog challenge.
Here’s Hema signing off until my next blog post. Thank you for stopping by. Happy crafting! Stay safe! Take care!
