Hello Friends!
Priya here today to share another inspiration for the blog challenge this month. The challenge for the month is “Shine your creativity with Stencils“. A range of new 4″*4” stencils has been released this month and they are all so gorgeous. I have used 3 different stencils today for my project.
As soon as I heard the theme, I was clear what I want to make and I totally love the way it came out. I decided to make a ‘Lion Door’ on a canvas that symbolizes Indian heritage, courage, and something that is very royal. Here is how my project looks…
Now let’s start the tutorial…
Step 1: Decided to work on a canvas as a base and three different designs of the newly launched 4*4 inch stencils.
Step 2: I applied white gesso to the canvas to prepare it for the next steps and let it dry.
Step 3: Created a border using one stencil and 2 in 1 Mixed media paste on the canvas.
Step 4: Cut a chipboard into 4 equal parts to give a raised effect to be adhered on the canvas.
Step 5: Created texture on the 4 pieces of chipboard using two different stencils and arranged them on the canvas as per my choice.
Step 6: Covered everything with white gesso and adhered the chipboard pieces using Heavy gel medium and let it dry completely.
Step 7: Colored the entire canvas using Little Birdie Chalk paints and Color splash. You can choose to use either of them. I like to combine them to give a heavy impasto effect on my project.
Step 8: Chose the embellishments to be added on top. For this I took a primed chipboard frame, some metal embellishments from the store and 4 metal buttons from my stash.
Step 9: Covered all the embellishments with Black gesso so that the colors look beautiful on them.
Step 10: Coloured the embellishments using Little Birdie Metallic waxes from the store. Now, they look so royal! Then adhered them using heavy gel medium.
