Friendship Forever – A Mixed Media Card

Hello friends,

Today I am sharing a Mixed Media card, efforts of my tiny steps in mixed media. I have used Little Birdie’s recently released Embossing Texture Paste for creating texture and it is really addictive to see the paste develop texture under a heat gun.

I wanted to make a tall card,  so the dimensions are 8″ x 4.25″. I took another panel which I trimmed 1/8 of an inch smaller.

I laid the script stencil on the panel and applied ‘Frosty Fizz’ Embossing Texture Paste. I allowed it to dry a little and then used a heat gun for creating texture.

If you want more texture, heat it for few more extra seconds. You can see the paste puffing up as you heat more.

I wanted less texture so I heated it less.

I sprayed water on to the panel and added distress inks and allowed it to dry.

By the time the panel was drying, I created my embellishments with the Embossing Texture Paste. I dipped a wired pollen end into the paste to get an even coat.

I heated it with my heat gun and you can see the puffed-up look. If you want thicker texture, dip again slightly and heat.

Applied Gesso on my chipboard elements. I inked the lattice chipboard with Vintage photo distress ink and applied ‘Arctic Shimmer’ glitter paste.

I inked a doily die cut with same distress inks as used for background. I applied Watermark ink and added clear embossing powder.

You can see the shiny coat from the embossing. I heat embossed two pieces, but ended up using only one.

I added the chipboard elements and other embellishments. I added the flowers and few die cut leaves too. Finally I adhered the panel to the card base and finished my card.

Hope you like my card. Till I see you next time with another creation – Happy Crafting!!
